Shailagh is a Wen-Do Women’s Self-Defence instructor and arts-based facilitator, focusing her work on empowerment for youth and women.
She earned a Master in Social Work degree in 2018 and is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
She teaches English, French and Spanish, holds a degree in Women’s Studies, is the recipient of several academic and non-academic awards, and has been solicited for publication in books and journals including Whose Streets? (Between the Lines Press) and The Dominion: News from the Grassroots.
Shailagh’s activism began in 2000, when she herself was a youth living in Sudbury, Ontario.
